Something Ephemeral continues the ambient/drone style of Who Tends A Garden. Continuing to focusing on what Alaskan Tapes calls his garden of sounds which includes Synthesizers, samples, trumpet, guitar and piano, but with the addition of lots of granular synthesis.

Alaskan Tapes partnered by poet Benjamin Niespodziany to create a photobook around the release of the album.

Sleeping Since Last Year (EP)

Sleeping Since Last Year is a 5 track ambient record featuring mostly drawn out drone tracks, including the 10 minute piece ‘The World Can Only Be Beautiful For So Long’. The EP also features the vocals of Chantal on the last track, a blissful, lo-fi folk track.
This EP was released on Cassette and CD, both of which have now sold out.

Views From Sixteen Stories is an 11 track album which features Raphael Weinroth-Browne on Cello, Jay Austin on French Horn, and Owen Vaga on Track 6. The album is completely instrumental, and consists of tracks inspired by genres such as Post-rock, solo piano, and Drone.
Accompanied with the album will be a special music video for the track ‘And, We Disappear’ by director Meredith Hama-Brown. The music video will be available soon.

Millions (Mini album)

Millions is a collection of 7 tracks made between mid-2018, and the beginning of 2019. Each track was made with extra recordings from the sessions of You Were Always An Island, and The Ocean No Longer Wants Us. Originally intended to be multiple A/B singles put out through the beginning of the year, the tracks were bundled together to create Millions.

The Ocean No Longer Wants Us (EP)

The Ocean No Longer Wants Us is a collection of 4 tracks (5 on cassette), thought up on a plane home from Vancouver. The EP features all ambient and drone tracks ranging from 4 to 9 minutes long. The title track features vocals from myself, Chantal Ouellette, and Adam London (aka Bedroom).

You Were Always An Island (Album)

Third full length album, You Were Always An Island is a 10 track project featuring vocalist Chantal Ouellette, and cellist Raphael Weinroth-Browne. This project focuses mostly on guitar based ambient tracks, most of which lack any obvious structure. Accompanying the album are three music videos for tracks; “Waiting”, “Skin”, and “Places” all directed by Toronto based director Andrew De Zen.

In Distance We’re Losing (Album)

In Distance We’re Losing is Alaskan Tapes second full length album. Looking to take another direction, this project focuses heavily on neoclassical compositions, as well as dream pop styled structures. The album features the track “Maybe (feat. Jay Rodgers)” which is accompanied by a music video directed by Elliot Rausch.
The album heavily features cellist Raphael Weinroth-Browne, vocalist Chantal Ouellette and was mastered by Taylor Deupree at 12k Studios.

We All Speak In Poems (Album)

We All Speak In Poems is the first full length album by Alaskan Tapes. The project was conceived as a continuation of Beyond The Streets, but quickly grew its own personality, focusing more on the ambient side of things, the majority of tracks are beat-less. The album features vocalist Chantal Ouellette on 2 of the 11 tracks.
